Caroline Nay, Class of 1996
UPDATE:I cannot believe that 2006 is almost here--it will soon have been 10 years since I graduated high school. Oftentimes, I wonder what everyone is doing now, and have decided to let anyone who is curious know what I have been up to since graduating...
Well, many of you may have remembered that I was dating Shane Nay towards the end of our senior year. Oftentimes, high school sweeties never make it, but after his matriculation to UCLA and mine to UCI, we continued to date and wed in the summer of 2000. We lived in Orange County up until October 2002 before moving to the Bay Area (San Jose). During school I worked as a researcher and then as a paramedic before graduating from UCI with degrees in Biology, Law and Society, and Psychology. I now work as a nuclear medicine technologist and health physicist, though I am planning to continue my education (what can I say, I always loved school!)
Shane studied mathematics and economics before working for a number of start up companies. For a while he "went corporate" with Toshiba, but afterwards found a perfect medium in a company called "Tivo" for which he currently works as a software engineer. People in his field inform me that he's a code genius, but when I look at him I still see the same ol' Shane that you guys saw last--the man is sweet and lovable, but can't seem to match a pair of socks...or retain a set of keys...perhaps at the reunion I shall recount the story of him driving into the neighbor's driveway, and despite seeing me outside and watering the lawn of our own house, how he continued to wave me over as if *I* were the confused one (Shane, now why would I be watering the neighbor's lawn??!!)
Although we are approaching our five year wedding anniversary, we do not yet have any children as we have been having too much fun traveling about the world (we just got back from Costa Rica). Outside of our home we like to hike and scuba. When home, Shane likes to solder, play with gadgets and tools, and pretty much make a huge mess for me! I love to decorate, read, and attempt to place our 20lb cat on a diet. Life is wonderful, love is wonderful! I have truly been blessed and hope that all of you have been as well.
