CURRENT LOCATION:
FAMILY LIFE:
I am single, never married (yet!), no children. I live with my best friend Cheryl
and her mom. We help take care of her as her health is ailing.
My dad still lives in Saugus (mom passed away when I was 19), and works
at Cal Arts (31 years, now!). My little brother Dan is married to a wonderful
lady named Deanna (a Hart grad) and has a beautiful baby girl named
Makenna (15 mos.). I?m a particularly proud auntie...and, yes, she's a genius!
EDUCATION:
I attended The Master's College for a year (full-time), and COC for 2 years
(part-time). I never earned a degree in anything, but have had the opportunity
to travel internationally working with a Christian missions organization. I lived
on a ship (the Logos II) for 2 years and worked on board as a land team
coordinator/liason and as a public relations officer for the ship, going ahead
into international ports with a team for 3 - 6 mos. to arrange the networking
of local churches, publicity campaigns, and the obtaining of government
permissions and visas for the ship's crew of 200 people from 35 different
nations. This was a time of rich experiences and the making of life-long,
worldwide friends. I am thankful for those 2 years. The life and work
experience I gained there truly cannot be measured. Over the years I
have also gone on several short-term mission trips to Canada, Mexico and
most recently - Russia (summer of 2004). All in all, I have had the opportunity
to visit, and in some cases spend considerable time in, 28 countries other
than my own!
EMPLOYMENT:
I am presently employed at High Desert Church as a secretary for the Student
Ministries Department (6th to 12th grade). My duties include not only normal
clerical and administrative tasks, but I also have the distinction of planning all of
our trips and events for our youth group of about 300 students. This keeps me
very busy much of the time, and is something I very much enjoy doing. Event
planning is something I've found myself to be rather skilled at. I also happen to
be the lucky individual who answers the phone when students and parents call
wanting to talk to a pastor, who typically is in an important meeting! I work as a
volunteer with the high school group outside of my work day.. I lead (under the
direction of our youth pastor) one of our mid-week Area Bible Studies. We have
35 students and 5 other adults that come for fellowship and Bible study each
Wednesday night. It is one of 4 houses. I find great joy pouring into the lives
of young people and also the staff that I oversee. It is a blessing, full of joys
and sorrows....but one I wouldn't change for anything....words cannot describe
the depth of love God has given me for these kids and staff. This is one of the
best times of my life thus far.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
I enjoy playing guitar/singing/songwriting, reading, crocheting, fishing,
movies and traveling.
