FAMILY LIFE:
Married (Cindy) and I have four beautiful children: Nicholas Adam (b. 10/18/1992),
Meghan Arianna (b. 07/14/1994), Christian Alexander (b. 09/16/1995), and Jordan
Addison (b. 10/19/1998). For those of you who have taken calculus, that's 4 kids in 6 years. I went
on the fast track because I had a late start. My wife is from Fredericksburg,
VA (home of many civil war battle fields) and she has the most rewarding job
staying home with our children. We visit California about twice a year to
visit my family and relatives who have been living in Thousand Oaks since 1979. My
brother, John (Class of 1978), works for Jostens, lives in Camarillo, CA, is
doing fine and I think he is getting married soon. (11/2000)
EDUCATION:
B.S.-UCLA (1986) and Master's of Public Affairs-University of
Maryland (1988). Because I was such a dedicated student (actually because I
was broke and wanted to travel), I also studied at Harvard University in the
summer of 1984 on a scholarship program for pre-med students and during the summer of
1985, I studied at the University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs for
public policy students. I am proud of my education accomplishments especially
because I have the same amount of education as Brian Knapp and I was not a
honor student at Saugus High. I keep in touch with Brian and he lives
nearby.
EMPLOYMENT:
I have my own insurance
agency, Zavala Insurance Services and I specialize in health, disability,
and life insurance.
