Melinda Lynch, Class of 1989
CURRENT LOCATION:
Santa Ana, CA as of this year. Previously we lived in the SFV for 10
yrs.
FAMILY LIFE:
I have been happily married to Kevin Lynch (Fillmore '88) since
1992. Kevin and I met at SFMM where we both worked retail. Now, we have one
precious child, Shona, born Oct. 16, 1998. Hope to have more when the time is
right.
EDUCATION:
I half-heartedly attended COC, and Pierce Community College.
Finally got my act together after working in various McJobs for several years
and enrolled at West Valley Occupational Center in Woodland Hills. I studied
and received a certificate in Graphic Arts. A humble start, but it got me into
a career.
EMPLOYMENT:
Currently I am a stay-at-home mom -- using all the skills I
acquired over the years to raise a human being. Pretty important position,
huh? Before parenthood, I worked in the newspaper industry for a company
called AdOut. We churned out ads all day and night to run in The Daily News,
LA Times, and several others. Worked there like a dog for almost 4 years.
Loved it, but don't miss it much now. The only job prior to AdOut that was any
fun was working for SFMM. I was the candle maker there for almost 3 years.
HOBBIES:
I am active in the Costa Mesa MOMS Club, the yahoo group APOrange
County, and La Leche League. Still enjoy drawing, reading, and meeting new
people.
MISCELLANEOUS:
I am very different from the girl you may have known at Saugus.
Though I was a complete slacker student, I have found much of the education I
did receive at Saugus to be useful and unique. Not every HS was studying
Shakespeare, Sci-Fi, American & World Lit. Not every school had GLADD or
Strategy. I can see why former students would want to go back to SHS and
teach.
I would enjoy any emails from classmates whether I knew you well or not.
I particularly would like to hear from Shanon Loring, my best friend at
Saugus.
Hope all of '89 are doing well in life.
