Patti Shea, Class of 1989
CURRENT LOCATION:Washington, DC
FAMILY LIFE:
I've adopted a dog, a beagle named Blarney (He was born on St. Patrick's Day). Still single and looking for Mr. Right... however that's difficult as every man in DC is short and wears really bad ties! I'm hopeful, though.
EDUCATION:
I graduated from UCSB in 1994 then moved to Washington, DC. I obtained a Master of Public Policy from American University in 1998. Taking beginning Portuguese lessons next semester so when I travel to Brazil I won't be left in limbo.
EMPLOYMENT:
I'm the managing editor of a community newspaper on the Hill called Voice of the Hill. The circulation is roughly 15,000. We write about the news and events going on in the Hill community.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
I stopped playing volleyball after I had reconstructive knee surgery in September 2004. So now I do yoga, Pilates and swim. I'm going for my scuba certification and hope to get licensed before my trip to Belize next spring.
I enjoy long walks with my dog along the capital mall.
I freelance for magazines and am working on several pieces right now.
