Rob Funk, Class of 1981

CURRENT LOCATION AND FAMILY LIFE:

Lived in Chandler, AZ for the past 11 years. (It has the best drag boat facility in the world.) We have a 1700 sq.ft. home on a man-made lake with waterfalls. (I wonder what that would cost if available in CA?)

Married to Lorie Frick of La Cresenta, CA for 11 years. We met through a dating service. She was the first and only I dated from the club. We have a daughter, Hailey Ann, 6 years old, and a son, Wesley Robert, 4 years old. We have a big yellow labrador retreiver named Beaureguard Eugene (Beau).

EMPLOYMENT:

After playing on the '80 & '81 Championship Saugus High Soccer team, I played soccer in West Germany with a club team with Tom Cole and Richard Rustan and other Santa Clarita Valley players. I played on a team in the San Fernando Valley with Rod Stewart.

I work for Arch Microelectronic Chemicals and Prepaid Legal. My wife works for Honeywell.

HOBBIES:

Fishing in my backyard, boating at Parker, AZ with '80 grad Brent Kapin. We ride quads, drive sandrails & camp at Glamis, CA. We are regular motorhome spot fans at the boatdrags and NHRA races at Firebird Raceway in Chandler, AZ.

MISCELLANEOUS:

I crew on two drag boat teams, one being fellow Saugus alumni Brent Kapin's blown gas hydro "Inherent Danger" #357. I plan on playing in the alumni soccer game during the Thanksgiving, 2001 weekend.

I've learned it's better to work to live than to live to work. Don't let work keep you from enjoying life. I haven't found a job being a pro race fan, yet.
