Scott Stanchfield, Class of 1988
CURRENT LOCATION:
FAMILY LIFE:
I finally married Toni Dybala (Class of '87) in 1994 in Texas. We currently
have only one "child," a cute little mutt who is treated like royalty around
the house. Real children are hopefully in the near future though.
EDUCATION:
After many years of wandering aimlessly through life, I decided to go back
to school. I became an Aggie (whoop!!!) in 1994 and received my BS in
Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1997. I planned on going
for a MS in Nuclear Engineering, but my finances (or lack of) forced me out
into the real world. I love that school and want to go back. I hope to get
an MBA sometime in the future.
EMPLOYMENT:
I am learning my way as a Nuclear Engineer at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station in
Port Gibson, MS. I work in the Safety Analysis Group of Design Engineering
and we are responsible for fuel reload analyses, offsite dose calculations
(accident and normal releases), and probabilistic risk assessment among
other things. During refueling outages, I even get to dress up from head to
toe in PC's and ride the refueling bridges as a Fuel Movement Supervisor.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
I enjoy cycling, woodworking, working in the yard, and working on the house.
I would love to renovate and live in a big old antebellum home. I still
have my '69 Camaro and hope to get it on the dragstrip in the near future.
