Sean McLeod, Class of 1996
CURRENT LOCATION:
FAMILY LIFE:
I'm married to a beautiful woman I met on a church preaching campaign the
summer after high school. Amanda and I were married during the summer of '98 and
now have three lovely and happy children.
EDUCATION:
I graduated from CSUN with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, minor in Business. I
started a Masters of Engineering Management (MEM) degree at CSUN but after I moved
to Rockford, IL in August of 2004, I started at Northwestern (Evanston/Chicago), IL continuing
the same MEM degree. I plan to graduate in June 2007.
EMPLOYMENT:
During college I worked various places gaining engineering experience. During
my senior year I worked at the LADWP as an engineering student intern with their
distributed generation (DG) group. When I graduated they, in perfect bureaucratic
style fired me because I was no longer a "student" (smart, eh?). I started work as a
Quality Engineer for an automotive supplier of pressure sensors, Kavlico Corp in
Moorpark, CA. It was there I was trained and moved into a full-time position as a
Six Sigma Black Belt (advanced statistical problem solving and project management
for business made famous by GE and others). While there my improvement projects
combined saved the company over $2.5M. I currently work as a Senior Manufacturing
Engineer at Haldex Hydraulics in Rockford, IL. They manufacture hydraulic gear
pumps, motors and other such industrial devices. After I graduate I don't expect
Haldex to be able to afford me so I'll probably have to move on. Hmm.... about a third of
my classmates at Northwestern are from Motorola; I'll have to exercise that network.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
I'm still very active in the church (Christadelphians). We are a lay ministry
so everybody has something to do. Besides work, school, and family I don't have a
whole lot of time. I mountain bike occasionally (yeah there are just enough big hills in the
Midwest to call it "mountain" biking).
THE WEB:
I seem to visit my bank website pretty often (does that count?),
I don't own a kilt (yet) but I though this was pretty cool:
www.kiltmen.com, and for
all you interested in "information design" (how to really convey meaning and
information with data and
graphics) see
