Stacey Dries, Class of 1996
UPDATE:After high school, I attended college at Texas A&M University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering with a Minor in Mathematics. During my time in college, I co-oped with an engineering firm in Houston, TX; Joined the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA); I also danced with a school organization called Dance Arts Society. Most importantly, while co-oping, I met my future husband, Kevin.
I currently live in Houston, TX and work for The Boeing Company full time. I work on a NASA contract that deals with science experiments that fly to the International Space Station (ISS). My job used to allow me to travel to various places in the U.S. at least once a month, which was lots of fun, but now I get to do regular desk jockey work sitting at a computer all day. I am starting work on a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering through a distance education program which will probably take me at least 3 years to complete.
I married my husband Kevin Dries in April of 2003 in Houston, TX. Kevin and I recently found out that are expecting a new family member to be born in March 2005 and we are very excited. In June of this year, we got a miniature dachshund named Huckleberry. He is now 4 months and is tons of fun to play with, a very hyper little guy. My sister, Carrie Vaeth (class of 1998) is now living and working in Austin, TX. The rest of my family has moved back to Texas as well. I am still a current member in SWE and AIAA. I also like to teach dance classes in the evenings. I continue to try and practice/play golf when I can find time.
I really like traveling to fun new places, though we don't get to do that very often.
