FAMILY LIFE:
Single and working too hard for anything else.
EDUCATION:
Staci earned her BA in Political Science with an
emphasis in International Relations from the University of California, Santa
Barbara in 1990. After graduation, she spent 3 months in Russia, traveling
to Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Moscow, Kiev, Lviv (near Poland) and
Yalta. In Kiev, she stayed with a Ukranian family and attended
American-taught courses at Kiev State University. She earned her MBA with an
emphasis in International
Management and studied Russian language at the Monterey Institute of
International Studies in 1995. As part of her MBA studies she completed a
Business Plan for Dole Food Co.'s entry into the Russian market which
included a thorough market analysis and the proposal for a joint venture.
EMPLOYMENT:
Staci is Executive Director of the United Nations
Association part-time. It is a non-profit association trying to educate the
Santa Barbara community about the UN and about why the UN is still necessary.
Her primary responsibility is fundraising, although she also is in charge of
the office, overseeing all employees and volunteers, doing the daily deposits
and keeping track of taxes due.
In addition, Staci has started her own business as an independent
"International Business Planning & Research Consultant." So far she has only
a few clients, doing grant writing and loan proposals. She specializes in
Russia, but all countries are of interest to her.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
Loves to travel and read. She also
scuba dives, although she hasn't been in a while.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Has continued to pursue drama and
choreographed and acted in 2 local Gilbert & Sullivan productions. She
adds:
I miss Cheryl Assmussen like crazy. If anyone knows where she is, I'd
love to hear from them.
