Geometry B Guidelines

Rules:

Ø Arrive on time.

Ø Bring all necessary materials to class…including COVERED TEXTBOOK.

Ø Follow directions.

Ø Be courteous and respectful to everyone.

Ø Follow school rules…including NO EATING OR DRINKING IN CLASS and NO CELL PHONES OR HEADPHONES.

Attendance:

Ø School attendance policy will be followed. FIFTEEN absences will result in a failing grade.

Ø If you are absent, it is your responsibility to get and promptly complete missed assignments, including tests or quizzes.

Ø If you are truant, you will receive a 0 on all work missed the day of the truancy.

Tardies:

Ø I will follow the Saugus High School Tardy Lock Out Program.

· First three tardies, you need a slip from TLO.

· Fourth tardy you will receive OR.

· Sixth and eighth tardies you will receive OR.

· Tenth tardy you will receive a Saturday School.

· Twelfth tardy you will receive a suspension.

· Fourteenth tardy you will receive a ticket from the school deputy.

Tests and Quizzes:

Ø Tests will be announced at least a week ahead of time and are worth 40% of your grade.

Ø Quizzes may be given without warning and are worth 20% of your grade.

Ø The final exam will be 20% of your grade.

Projects and Homework:

Ø Projects will be assigned and will be worth 5% of your grade.

Ø Homework is assigned on a nightly basis…including Fridays!

· Homework is worth 15% of your grade

· Homework can only be made up from absences.

· No late work will be accepted!

Problems of the Week:

Ø Problems are discussed on Mondays and due the following Monday.

Ø Each student is required to complete 2 PoWs of their choice each month.

Don’t forget to bring your textbook everyday!

Ø colored pencils and highlighters

Ø scientific calculator

Cheating:

Ø Cheating is unacceptable and will result in a grade of 0% as well as a referral to an assistant principal.

I will use a +/- scale

Grade Scale:

100-90%....A 89-80%...B 79-70%...C 69-60%...D 59% and below…F

Extra Help:

I am HAPPY to help any student before school (7:20-7:50) or after school (3:00) by appointment.
