Intro To Auto

Satisfies the practical art requirement for graduation.

This semester-long entry level exploratory class is designed for the novice student to get an overview of the automobile and how it works. Students will learn about basic auto maintenance and apply that knowledge in the lab/garage. Shop safety will be stressed throughout the course, and students will be expected to observe all safety protocols. It is expected that students will learn to safely operate many pieces of equipment specific to any auto shop. Various labs will be offered throughout the semester and will focus on various skill sets and many different levels of higher order thinking. All students are required to pass a basic shop safety test with a score of 100% to participate in lab and group activities.
