WELCOME PARENTS!!!

Saugus High School PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization) welcomes incoming and returning parents, students, and staff to the 2019-2020 school year.  Parents often wonder how they can continue to be involved during their student’s high school years, and PTSO provides that opportunity.  It’s as easy as becoming a member, attending the meetings, and/or volunteering when you can.  Our 6 meetings throughout the school year provide a forum for asking questions, the exchange of ideas and concerns, a friendly environment to meet other parents, and being able to listen to some great speakers.  Our 5 speaker topics for this year are:

  1. High school course selection/requirements; college bound course selection
  2. Career counseling and opportunities here at SHS
  3. Math tutorial help available
  4. R.A.K.E.S driving program for new drivers
  5. Financial planning/college planning for your teenagers

Mr. Vincent Ferry, our principal, attends all 6 meetings to give important updates to the parents as well as provides a forum for parent questions.

Where is the PTSO membership and fundraising money spent??

*Funding Senior Scholarship Program.  Last year we awarded over 16,000 to our Saugus seniors

*Hosts the annual Boutique Fantastique fundraiser.  100% of the proceeds goes towards our scholarship program.

*Beverages and snacks provided in reception classrooms for Prom

*Annual grant donations to each academic department

*Hosts the Welcome Back Teacher Breakfast

*Hosts the Holiday Luncheon for the entire staff

*Hosts End of the Year teacher appreciation luncheon

*Fund the trophy and $500 Teacher of the Year annual award

We are looking forward to an exciting new year for the PTSO.  We are dedicated to enriching all students’ experiences at Saugus High School regardless of GPA, athleticism, or interests.  We welcome new ideas and we look forward to seeing you soon. Our 30th annual Boutique Fantastique is scheduled for Nov. 2 and 3 from 10am-4pm.  Hope to see you there!!

Thank you for your support!!
