Monday is a Holiday in Honor of Martin Luther King Jr. School will be closed.
Career & College Readiness classes begin during the week of January 20th. There is still room in a handful of semester long exploratory classes. If you are interested in enrolling in a class or have a question about continuing your current class, please see Mrs. Dahlquist in the Counseling office.
Senior Diplomas: The list of names for the class of 2020 Diplomas will be posted on the window of the Counseling office. Please have your student review the spelling of their names. If a change needs to be made, please have your student go to the Registrar’s office by Friday, January 24th.
Rally Schedule We will have a rally for the students on Friday, January 24th during an extended double brunch. Check website for bell schedule.
CSF Applications for the California Scholarship Federation are available from Tuesday, January 21st through Friday, January 31th. Applications can be picked up by your student at the receptionist desk in the front office or from Mrs. Culotta in Q1701 at first brunch or lunch. Application deadline is Friday. January 31
Boys and Girls State: There will be a Boys and Girls State informational meeting on Thursday, January 23rd at lunch in the MPR. All juniors interested in participating in this summer program on government are invited to attend. Applications are also now available in the counseling office, and are due on Monday, January 27th by second brunch.
First Improv Show of 2020 will be this Thursday, January 23rd at 7:00 pm in the Forum. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance at the ASB store or the night of the event at the box office. Please come and enjoy a night of improv from our fantastic Saugus Students.
The SCV Scholarship applications are now available on the Santa Clarita Valley Scholarship Foundation website which is: https://scvsf.org. There are also copies of the applications in the counseling office. Applications are no later than 3:00 pm on January 30, 2020, in the counseling office.
The P.T.S.O. Scholarship applications are now available in the counseling office.
The only requirements to apply is that you need to be a senior: with a GPA of 2.0 or higher; are applying to any college, community college, vocational school, or apprentice program; are current members of the P.T.S.O. Applications must be turned into The Counseling Office on or before 3:00 on February 4, 2020.
The Santa Clarita Emblem Club # 459 will be awarding four $800.00 Scholarships to worthy students enrolled in an institution of higher learning. Two of the scholarships will be awarded to a son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter, grandson, granddaughter, step-grandson or step-granddaughter of a member in good standing with S.C. Elks Club #2379 or S.C. Emblem club #459. The other two scholarships will be awarded to a deserving student in our community. Please have your student come by the counseling office to pick up the applications. Applications are due by February 15, 2020.
The Jack V. Pistonetti Scholarship application is now available in the counseling office. This scholarship opportunity coincides with the SCVSF Scholarship opportunity. To qualify for the Pistonetti Scholarship you need to be a Saugus Senior, plan on attending a 2 or 4-year college and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applications are due no later than 3:00 pm on January 30, 2020

SHS Boys Soccer is having a restaurant night at Crazy Otto’s this Saturday, January 25th at Crazy Ottos in Canyon Country.
Saugus Choir is selling tickets for $20 each to the Angels game on Friday, April 24th. Choir students from all over Southern California, including our very own Saugus Choir, will perform together as a mass choir rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Tickets will be on sale until March 31. Here is the link:

Our annual Elementary Outreach Night is scheduled for Tuesday, February 4th starting at 5:30 pm. Future Centurion shirts will be given to the 5th and 6th grade participants as well as a light dinner. Please come and introduce your future centurions to our campus and let your neighbors know if they have current 5th and 6th graders planning on attending Saugus High School.
Connecting to Success Field Trip: Friday, February 28th 8:30 am-1:00 pm Connecting to Success (CTS) is a collaborative effort involving the Valley Industrial Association (VIA) of Santa Clarita and the Wm. S. Hart Union High School District. The purpose of the event is to empower 10th grade students “to achieve at the business of life.” The experience will give students a real-life opportunity to attend a business/educational conference. This event is only for 10th graders.
