Saugus HS events and information: Week of November 13th - November 17th.
There will be a guest speaker from the United States Military Academy at West Point to talk about academics, athletics and admissions to military academies. Cadet Spencer Klehn will be coming to Saugus High School during lunch on Tuesday, November 21st to talk about military academies, and answer any questions students have. Please have your student sign up in the counseling office if they are interested in attending.
Sadie Hawkins Dance will be on Saturday, November 18th from 7:00-11:00 pm. Tickets are available for purchase in the ASB office $20 w/ASB and $25 w/o ASB and $30 at the door.
Attention parents of Seniors: Diploma name forms are being handed out in the government and econ classes. Extra forms are available in the Registrar Office. Please sign and return the completed form by December 1st to the Registrar Office.
Attention Senior Parents: Disneyland Grad Nite tickets are on sale now thru Feb 23rd or until they sell out. Permission slips are available in the front office and must be turned in completed to purchase a ticket. Grad Nite will be at Disneyland/California Adventure on May 22nd departure time at Saugus is 1:00 pm and will return on May 23rd at approx. 3:30 a.m. Tickets are $190.00 each. This includes transportation to the park and Grad nite festivities. It does not include food or other items purchased at park.
Career Visions class at Saugus High is collecting new and gently used blankets for the seniors at the Santa Clarita Senior Center. We are looking for blankets, afghans, quilts or bedspreads that are in good shape. We will be collecting until November 15, 2017. There will be a Blanket barrel in the front office for collection.

Save the Date: Monday, December 4th will be the annual Cocoa and Cram Finals study event sponsored by Common Cents Mentors. This is a free cram session designed to help students prepare for FINALS. Check in begins at 5:45 pm in the Q Building and the pick up time is 8:30 pm. Please bring everything you normally bring to class PLUS books and study guides. Sessions are available in English, Spanish, Math and Science.
Saugus High has participated in Operation Christmas Child for over 20 + years!!!! Last year we received over 120 boxes from students and staff. Wondering what OCC is, check out this 3 minute video. Contributions and boxes can be brought to Mr. Nickels in the Ceramics Department.
Track and Field tryouts will be held November 27, 28th, and 29th during 7th period and after school. To be eligible to try out, students MUST attend an informational meeting in S-Lecture on Tuesday, November 14th at lunch. Please have your student see Coach Russell in Q1706 or Coach Berns in M1305 if they have any questions.
There are 7 Career Exploration classes available to students starting next semester. These classes will earn you 5 practical arts credits and are the first steps to a career pathway. Most meet once a week for 2 hours after school and have online homework. Have your student stop by to see Mrs. Dahlquist, our Career & College Readiness Specialist, during brunch or lunch in the counseling office and she will gladly help your students career pathway choices. Animal Science Careers, Education Careers, Fire Science Careers, Health Science Careers, Hospitality, Tourism & Recreation Careers, Information Technology Careers, Law & Government Careers.
