In forensic science, students combine basic scientific concepts critical thinking skills and technology to solve crimes. We start the year by learning how the brain works and developing problem solving skills. We will then learn to process a crime scene and collect physical evidence. Forensic science provides hands-on experience solving realistic crime scene scenarios using actual forensic techniques. (i.e. finger printing, hairs and fibers, crime scene photography, blood spatter, DNA, and entomology) Throughout the year you will participate in demos, activities, labs and case studies that offer an in-depth realistic look at forensic science. The year culminates with the creation and analysis of a complex crime scene.
